COUNTY OF SAN JOAQUIN
'•' ;Z THOMAS R. Due to the
uniformity of the concentrations and their relation to laboratory matrix spikes, the County suspected that
the detections were caused by laboratory error and instructed EMCON to re-test the well as soon as
possible. Since it was already time to collect samples for the Second Quarter Monitoring Event, the re-
test is in the form of normal second quarter monitoring.
Results indicate that all VOCs are non-detect in all monitoring wells this quarter. The certified analytical
reports, field data sheets, and chain of custody documentation are attached for your review. These results
will also be submitted with the Second Quarter Monitoring Report prior to July 15, 1999. We believe this
verifies that the VOCs detected during the first quarter were false and that there is no VOC impact on
ground water at the Foothill Sanitary Landfill.
If you have any questions regarding this issue, please call me at(209) 468-3066.
Sincerely,
e
1 k)"OHNSON
Associate Civil Engineer
WJ:rh
S:\W ES\FMGWMON\2-99v=.wpd
Attachment
c: Robert McClellon, R.E.H.S., Public Health Services, Environmental Health Division
LA 64201
