This notice is sent in conformance to Section 20919.5 (c) (1)
of Title 27 CCR. A formal report containing this data will be sent to you shortly.
We do not believe this condition threatens human health and safety at this time. The closest
habitable structure to this well is the on-site residence. Although the residence was not monitored
Friday (it will be monitored today), there are four other monitoring wells between SG -7 and this
residence, all of which were found to have combustible gas concentrations of 0.1 % or less. In
addition, this well is approximately 1,000 feet from the property boundary, and the distance to the
nearest occupiable structure to the south east of the site is over a mile.
Previous data indicates fluctuating concentrations of combustible gas at this well. I suspect that
the variations in barometric pressure this past week contributed to this exceedence. We will
monitor that well again today, and I will not be surprised if combustible gas concentrations are
found to be below regulatory limits. I will notify you of the results when available.
In conformance to Section 20919.5 (c) (2) of Title 27, our corrective action will be the installation
of a landfill gas collection system. This system is a component of the Foothill Site Improvement
Project, which is scheduled for release for bidding March 28, 2006. We have no doubt that this
system will control whatever migration potential may exist at that time.
