i
STATE OF -CALIFORNIA—BUSINESS AND TRANSPORTATION AGENCY GEORGE DEUKMEAAN, Go.,
DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION
P.O. BOK 2048 (1976 E. CHARTER WAY)
STOCKTON, CA 95201 s
(209) 948-7112
10 -SJ -99
San Joaquin County
Planning Division
Woodson Estates
Subdivision Application
NOP of Negative
Declaration
Mr. William Factor
San Joaquin County
Planning Division
1810 East Hazelton Avenue
Stockton, Ca 95205
Dear Mr. Factor:
We have reviewed the Negative Declaration for the Woodson
Estates Subdivision and have the following comments.
1. The proposed subdivision will have a significant impact
on the Route 99 at Jahant Road interchange. The majority of the
traffic associated with this new subdivision will utilize Route 99.
Additional traffic at this location should be carefully analyzed
before reaching a conclusion the project. will not have a signifi-
cant effect on the environment.
2. We are concerned with the cumulative impacts of the develop-
ment of this portion of San Joaquin County and the impacts this will
have on Route 99. If additional developments in this area are planned
we must coordinate impacts expected on the transportation system and
potential improvements as early as possible. It is our intent in
District 10 to promote local economic development through improved
transportation access to existing and planned development in coopera-
tion with local and regional agencies and the private sector. However,
it is our Department Policy that those who share in the benifits of
such improvements should also participate in the costs.
If you have any questions concerning these comments please
contact_ me at (209) 948-7112 or Terry L. Barrie at (209) 948-3687.
Very truly yours,
LARRY BURGESS
IGR Coordinator
