MITIGATION MEASURE <br />AIR QUALITY <br />PM -10 Emissions <br />All haul roads will be <br />maintained to and <br />watered to help <br />eliminate particulate <br />matter. The entrance <br />road to the landfill <br />(20 ft. wide, 2,000 ft. <br />long) was paved in 1992 <br />to reduce PM -10 <br />emissions. <br />Vehicle Idling <br />The Department of <br />Public Works should <br />implement a policy <br />which limits heavy-duty <br />diesel vehicles to a <br />maximum idling time of <br />20 minutes. <br />Odors-Recyclables <br />If objectionable odors <br />are created by storage <br />o f r e c y c l a b l e <br />m a t e r i a l s, t h e <br />materials will be taken <br />to market at that time. <br />MITIGATION MONITORING PLAN FOR <br />INCREASED WASTE QUANTITIES AND RECYCLING PROJECT <br />FOOTHILL SANITARY LANDFILL <br />MONITORING/RESPONSE <br />All roads will be <br />monitored daily and <br />watered whenever <br />necessary to reduce <br />particulate matter. <br />The site foreman will <br />instruct all equipment <br />operators that heavy <br />duty diesel equipment <br />be shut off when <br />unattended longer that <br />20 minutes. <br />The site foreman will <br />monitor the storage <br />areas daily.
