We are pleased to report
that based on these results, we are in full compliance with Title 27 regarding landfill gas
migration.
This was the first monitoring event for the new perimeter migration monitoring wells installed in
2009. To assess function, the vacuum required to withdraw a sample was measured while probe
gas was being collected. All but one probe required 5" we vacuum or less (most less than 2").
Probe SG -118 -Shallow required 12" vacuum. I speculate that this is due to wet soil near the
surface at that well, which is installed near the pond. Our instrument can provide over 100" we
vacuum, but at no time did the instrument seem to "labor", indicating that the instrument did not
have difficulty pulling a sample from any probe.
Based on these measurements, all probes appear to be functioning properly.
If you have any questions, please contact me at extension 8-8504.
Sincerely,
W.
