The item scanned as Toxic HW. Juana identified the item as waste. Juana bagged the item and placed it inside a Toxic HW tote at the time of inspection. - Juana stated that returned and damaged items are brought to the facility's back storage area where they wait in open red totes to be processed. When asked how often these items are processed, Juana stated that these items are processed on a weekly basis, rather than daily, due to the recent remodeling of the store. The following was found in an open unlabeled red tote on a shelf adjacent the HW storage area (IMG 1960): - Gold Bond Medicated Extra Strength Lotion scanned as Toxic HW (IMG 1941-1943) - L.A. Girl Eyeshadow Collection ULTRA scanned as Toxic HW (IMG 1944-1946) - L.A. Girl Liquid Lipstick scanned as Toxic HW (IMG 1951-1953) - Two Wet N Wild Megaslicks Lip Gloss scanned as Toxic HW (IMG 1954-1959) The items listed above were identified as waste by Juana. - Various unidentified loose pill were found in an open unlabeled blue bin inside the pharmacy (IMG 1961-1961). According to the staff pharmacist, Ripal Patel, loose pills are placed in this blue bin and are processed and put in the pharmacy's HW tote on a weekly basis. - A used Rimmel London Kate lipstick was found inside a red open and unlabeled tote beneath a register at the front of the store. The item was identified by Juana as waste, and scanned as Toxic HW. All hazardous waste containers shall be closed at all times except when adding or removing waste. Immediately close these containers and ensure all hazardous waste containers are closed when not adding or removing waste. This is a Class II violation.
