CVS retail pharmacies generate hazardous waste in the ordinary course of business. <br />However, CVS Pharmacy has taken steps to minimize the generation of hazardous waste <br />at its stores. Specifically, CVS Pharmacy utilizes procedures, including sophisticated RF <br />Unit technology, to assist store colleagues with accurate identification of items that must be <br />managed as hazardous waste and those that may be reused, As part of this process, CVS <br />Pharmacy works with its vendors to support re -use of retail products where possible. <br />Additional information about these waste minimization measures is available through the <br />CVS Health EH&S Department. <br />The Store Manager is intima#ely responsible for successful implemen#ation of the program. <br />Each Front Store and Pharmacy colleague must complete at least one of the program <br />courses described in this Overview, depending on his or her job responsibilities. In order to <br />ensure that there is a Manager -On -Duty at all times with a clear understanding of program <br />requirements, the Store Manager must also ensure that the Front Store Management Team <br />is trained on the program, and completes all assigned courses. The Store Manager and his <br />or her management team should reference this Overview, in addition to the required <br />courses, as it will provide supplemental details of the program. <br />CVS Pharmacy Warks with third -party vendors to assist with the management <br />of hazardous waste.
