KLEINFELDER & ASSOCIATES File No. 5-2282-1 <br /> February 9, 1978 <br /> PAGE TWO <br /> PURPOSES AND SCOPE OF INVESTIGATION <br /> The purposes of this Soils Investigation have been to explore <br /> the subsurface and surface soil conditions at this site and prepare <br /> a report for submission to the San Joaquin County Planning <br /> Department. The scope of our work was outlined in our proposal <br /> dated January 4, 1978. <br /> This report contains the following information: <br /> 1. Plot Plan showing the approximate locations <br /> of the borings drilled for this investigation. <br /> 2. Logs of Borings . <br /> 3. Results of laboratory tests . <br /> 4. Recommendations for site preparation, <br /> excavation and Engineered Fill. <br /> 5. Recommendations for foundations and <br /> floor slabs for residential units . <br /> 6. Resistance-Value Tests for the site <br /> were made previously and the results <br /> presented in our letter dated <br /> December 30, 1977. <br /> 7. Pavement design is not included as a <br /> part of our scope of work. <br /> 8. Percolation Tests were made by Diablo <br /> Engineers . _ <br /> SITE CONDITIONS <br /> At the time of our field investigation, the site was <br /> planted in raw crops consisting of red peppers on the western <br /> half of the site and cucumbers on the eastern portion. Shallow <br /> furrows were observed on the majority of the site with ditches <br /> approximately 1-1/2 to 2 feet deep for water distribution. One <br /> well was observed on the northwest corner of the subdivision. No <br /> other structures or obstructions were observed on the site during <br /> our field investigation. The property is relatively flat and <br /> slopes gently to the south. <br />
