METAL FINISHING SOLUTIONS, INC. <br /> HAZARDOUS WASTE GENERATION <br /> Metal Finishing Solutions, Inc. located in Stockton California is in the metal finishing business. The <br /> company processes include cleaning, coating and rinsing of metal parts provided by its main customers. <br /> These steps utilize an Eco-Friendly High-Efficient Conversion Coating which provides corrosion <br /> resistance & excellent adhesion for Electric Vehicles. The current list of hazardous wastes generated at <br /> the facility is provided in Exhibit 1 below. The two main areas in the plant are (1) clean, coat& rinse <br /> process line and (2)waste treatment. <br /> Customer parts are cleaned in alkaline cleaner solutions, coated (anodized)and dried. The parts are <br /> transferred to successive tanks containing either the process solution or rinsewater. The wastes are spent <br /> processing solutions, relatively concentrated rinsewater and dilute rinsewater. Customer parts are dried, <br /> inspected and packaged for return shipment. <br /> The fresh Chemical additives (Alkaline Cleaner, Acid Deoxidizer, Gardobond) are used in diluted <br /> concentrations in Process tanks#2, #5 and #8). The drums these fresh chemicals are transported and <br /> stored in (plastic 55-gallon drums) are triple rinsed after emptying into their specific tanks. The rinsate <br /> to the triple rinsing cleaning is also put into the specific tanks, as so rinsate ifrom these drums do not <br /> make a waste that needs to be handled. <br /> The spent plating solutions from process tanks: <br /> • Tank#2—Degrease Dip, <br /> • Tank#5—Deoxidize Bath, <br /> • Tank#8—Gardobond Bath <br /> are emptied into waste totes and /or drums, and properly disposed of utilizing certified hazardous <br /> waste transporter(s)to a certified Designated Facility. <br /> The rinsewater from the following Rinse Tanks: <br /> • Tank#3—Rinse 0 Tank#9— Rinse <br /> • Tank#4—Rinse 0 Tank#10— Rinse <br /> • Tank#6—Rinse 0 Tank#11 — Rinse <br /> • Tank#7—Rinse <br /> Are consolidated into MFS facility's Waste Tanks (Acid or Alkaline) and treated into a series of waste <br /> neutralizing tanks.
