December 6, 1973
Schmid Development, Inc.
P. 0. Box 8236
Stockton, California 95208
Subjects Sewage Treatment Facility - Morada west Subdivision
Gentlemens
I have reviewed the treatment plant detail sheet, dated November 30, 1973,
pertaining to the following supplemental items, which we had previously
discussed.
1. Supplemental Dr eller You have increased the total number required
by twenty-five 25 percent, which allows for drying out units, as I
recommended, without disturbing the overall total capacity,
2. Supplemental Lands Your design allows for the replacement of the
entire drywell system on contiguous land, should that unlikely event-
uality become necessary.
3. Settling Ponds Placement of a settling pond between the treatment
plant and drywells to settle out additional suspended solids. The
size is as discussed.
4. Individual Shut-Off Valves Each distribution pipe to a drywall
has its own shut-off valve to allow unlimited flexibility in deter-
mining which drywalls will be used, and which will be shut down to
dry out.
5. Siphon Tubes Designed so as not to pick up sludge from bottom of II
settling pond, nor scum from the surface, by keeping bottom of siphon
24" off floor of pond and 36" below surface.
I find that the improvements, that I recommended, have been incorporated into
the latest design, and appears to constitute a sewage treatment facility that
will deliver the design capacity without undue difficulty.
Respectfully,
L Zl
George S
Water Pollution Control
Operational Consultant
