Dumark Company
907 Central Avenue
Tracy, California 95376
Re: Lathrop Park Homes Unit #1 (ASP-421)
Lathrop, California
San Joaquin County
Gentlemen:
The design plans and supplementary exhibits pertaining to the
sewage treatment plant proposed to serve subject subdivision of 60 lots
and 103 lots in the Lathrop Village Homes Unit #3 subdivision have been
reviewed.
It is requested that your engineer submit revised design plans
incorporating the following changes:
1. Provide removable basket screen in the inlet to the sewage
lift station which is acceptable to the County Public Works Department
to prevent fowling of the lift pumps and aerators. Note: When more
than the 163 homes proposed are to be served, sewer plans will be
reviewed to determine the need for a comminutor.
2. Change the 6 mil visqueen lining proposed in the aeration
pond to a pvc lining (polyvinylchloride) with 20 mil minimum thickness
to provide better resistance to puncture. Construction specs must
provide for details to anchor down the pvc lining uniformly to the pond
bottom by placing rounded cobbles or a thin layer of course gravel on
the lining to prevent aeration forcing air under the lining. Other
equivalent procedures recommended by the lining manufacturer would be
acceptable.
3. Increase the percolation pond area from the 1,400 square
feet shown to 31,600 square feet for the 163 lots proposed, and provide
additional pond area as more lots are to be served on the basis of 195
square feet percolation area per lot up to the capacity of the plant
design of 320 lot equivalent.
It is our understanding that the County Health Department has
approved your design plans for the sewage treatment plant, and that
these facilities are temporary until connection to the City of Manteca
treatment plant can be provided.
