MEMORANDUM
TO: James A. Robertson
FROM: Steven C. Macaulay
SUBJECT: Requirements Checking - Lathrop Park Homes and
Lathrop Village Homes, Unit No. 3
On 1 March 1973 , I visited the subject wastewater treatment
facilities to ascertain compliance with waste discharge re-
quirements. I was accompanied by Al Olson of the San Joaquin
Local Health District.
This facility consists of a large aeration pond and three
evaporation/percolation ponds. The aeration pond has two sur-
face aerators which operate intermittently (approximately once
per day) . The other ponds are presently not being utilized,
since the aeration pond is capable of handling all wastewater
at the present stage of development. These ponds are not being
maintained, and are quite overgrown with vegetation. This will
severely limit their effectiveness should these ponds be used
in the future. ,
Al Olson indicated that the Health District has received no
complaints related to odors from this facility. The ponds
are somewhat isolated, although the aeration pond is 300 feet
away from several houses.
My inspection indicates that this facility is currently in
compliance with the Board' s requirements.
3/29/73 scm/ca
cc: H.
