J. H. KLEINFELDER & ASSOCIATES
11
File No. S-2568-5
November 23, 1983
Page Two
The results of the exploratory boring and laboratory testing indicates the
soils below the site are relatively fine-grained. The field percolation test
results are shown on Table L The average field percolation test result is 40
minutes per inch.
Based on
this
information and experience for
such disposal systems, we anti-
cipate storm
water
will percolate at a rate of 1
to 4 inches per day. A per-
colation rate
of 2
inches per day should be used
for design. The variation in
this rate will
be a
factor of moisture content of
soil below ponds, surface con-
dition at bottom of ponds, and pond depth.
The recommendations made in this report are based on the results of our
field explorations and our understanding or the proposed construction. The
soils data from which this report was prepared are based on the results of five
test borings and five percolation tests made for this investigation. It is
possible that variations in the soil conditions could exist between or beyond
the points of exploration. Therefore, if any soil conditions are encountered
during construction which differ from those assumed in preparation of this
report, our firm should be notified so that we can review the situation that
exists and modify our recommendations if needed.
J. H. Kleinfelder do Associates has prepared this report for the use of
Mr. Dave Olmstead for design purposes in accordance with generally accepted soil
and foundation engineerinng practices. No other warranty, expressed or implied,
is made as to the professional advice included in this report.
This report is also issued with the understanding that it is the client's
responsibility to ensure that the information and recommendations contained
herein are called to the attention of the designer for the project and that
necessary steps are also taken to see that the recommendations are carried out
in the field.
We trust this report contains the information required. If you have any
questions regarding this report, please contact us.
Respectfully submitted,
J. H. KLEINFELDER & ASSOCIATES
Michael R. Erwin, C.
