What is a Hazardous Material? <br /> • "Hazardous Material" means any material that, because of its <br /> quantity, concentration, or physical or chemical characteristics, <br /> poses a significant present or potential hazard to human health <br /> and safety or to the environment if released into the workplace or <br /> the environment (CA HSC (Health and Safety Code) § 25501 <br /> (n)(1))) <br /> • "Hazardous materials" include, but are not limited to, hazardous <br /> substances, hazardous waste, and any material that a handler or <br /> the unified program agency has a reasonable basis for believing <br /> that it would be injurious to the health and safety of persons or <br /> harmful to the environment if released into the workplace or the <br /> environment (CA HSC § 25501 (n)(2))) <br /> Hazardous Material on site: Propane Cylinders (more than 55 gallons <br /> (liquids) on site at any given time) <br /> • Propane is a non-toxic, clean-burning fuel that can be used to <br /> safely power forklifts both indoors and outdoors. However, it is an <br /> extremely flammable gas. <br /> Where are the Propane Cylinders stored? <br /> • Propane Cylinders is stored in a cylinder cage along the SW corner <br /> of Zone 2 (See Emergency Response Site Map) <br /> 2of13 <br />
