If average daily water usage exceeds the daily flow rate figure listed in the <br />design, adjustments must be made to reduce usage or the system must be enlarged to <br />accommodate the increased flows. <br />OVERALL CARE OF THE SYSTEM <br />The best habit for the long term preservation ofany septic system is to minimize tine liquid and <br />solid loads to the system. As noted on the plans, low -flush toilets and low -flow showcrheads are <br />required and should be very effective in minimizing; the liquid loading, however the owner should <br />always remember that the system has a finite capacity for liquid loading and that unnecessary <br />water usage in the dwelling should always be avoided, Solids Ioading will be minimized by <br />limiting or eliminating; garbage disposal use, composting food scraps, and utilizing liquid rather <br />than solid laundry detergents.
