J. H. KLEINFELDER & ASSOCIATES
File No. S-2568-4
October 11, 1983
Page 8
of these documents for bidding purposes.
This report is based on the assumption that an adequate program of observations
and tests will be performed during construction to verify construction compliance with
these recommendations. These observations and tests would be additional services
provided by our firm, the costs of which are not included in our present fee
arrangements or estimate. The recommended observations and tests include, but are
not necessarily limited to, the following:
1. Continuous observation and testing during site
preparation and grading, and placement of Engineered
F ill.
2. Consultation as required during construction.
Our firm necessarily cannot assume responsibility for construction compliance with
our recommendations unless we have been retained to perform the observations and
testing during construction. In the event that our recommendations are interpreted by
others, we take no responsibility for such interpretations unless we are afforded the
opportunity to review the situation and respond in writing.
LIMITATIONS
The recommendations made in this report are based on the results of our field
explorations and our understanding or the proposed construction. The soils data from
which this report was prepared are based on the results of seven test borings made for
this investigation. It is possible that variations in the soil conditions could exist
between or beyond the points of exploration. Therefore, if any soil conditions are
encountered during construction which differ from those assumed in preparation of this
report, our firm should be notified so that we can review the situation that exists and
modify our recommendations if needed.
J.
