8 . Training in the following areas is provided to employees : <br /> a . The basic requirements of the Hazard Communication Standard and the <br /> employee's right to information on chemical hazards. <br /> b. The company's program to comply with the Standard and procedures to <br /> follow to review the Standard the Program and MSDSs. <br /> c. Interpretation of labels on containers of hazardous substances. <br /> d . Potential health effects of hazardous substances and interpretation of MSDSs <br /> to determine health effects. <br /> e. Safe handling of hazardous substances . <br /> f. Emergency procedures in case of exposure or spill . <br /> g. Detection of hazardous substances in the work place. <br /> 9 . Training is documented by the Training Record, recording employee attendance <br /> and the training topics covered . Documentation is maintained in a Safety and <br /> Hazmat Records binder. <br /> 10 . Training concerning new hazards or new MSDS information will be given within <br /> 30 days and will be documented as provided above . <br /> 11 . Refresher training on chemical hazards will be provided periodically, but not less <br /> than annually. <br /> 12 . Outside contractors and visitors will be advised of chemical hazards by the <br /> supervisor in whose area the contractors or visitors are working. Contractors will <br /> be required to provide information about any chemicals which they use in <br /> company facilities . <br /> NOTE: Knife River N. C. R.
