Facility inspection records for the facility indicated that these two tank pumps(#2 and#5)have <br /> been leaking since 11/27/2020. <br /> REGULATION GUIDANCE:A hazardous waste generator must maintain and operate its facility to minimize the <br /> possibility of a fire, explosion, or any unplanned sudden or non-sudden release of hazardous waste or hazardous <br /> waste constituents to air, soil, or surface water which could threaten human health or the environment. <br /> CORRECTIVE ACTION: Ensure that all leaks are fixed. Clean up all spills, and manage all generated waste <br /> according to Title 22 California Code of Regulations for hazardous waste. Submit a statement and supporting <br /> documentation to the San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department indicating that these leaks were <br /> addressed. <br /> This is a Class II violation. <br /> 502 CCR 66262.34(d)(2)Tank system inspections of discharge systems, monitoring equipment, and tank levels not <br /> done daily. <br /> OBSERVATION: The hazardous waste tank(AST-8, 500-gallons) is not being inspected daily. This tank is <br /> located inside a concrete enclosure with a metal lid and is not observable without first removing the heavy metal lid. <br /> Facility indicated that this tank is not being inspected routinely.
