SPILL ENTERED A STORM DRAIN.
CLEAN-UP IS BEING PERFORMED BY PUBLIC WORKS.
OVERALL INSPECTION NOTES AND COMMENTS
NOTES
The following information was obtained from James Pease, City of Ripon Public Works Director, on 5/13/2021: The acrylic
paint release that entered a storm drain is in the process of being cleaned up by a Public Works crew. The storm drain catch
basin and the storm drain line are being pressure washed. The generated waste is being placed in a vac truck, which already
contained 200 gallons of water mixed with dirt from other job sites. James was notified that a hazardous waste determination
will need to be done on the contents of the vac truck, since the waste generated from the paint spill clean-up is being placed
in the vac truck.
On 5/14/2021 the EHD visited the site and verified the spill clean-up was complete. Per James Pease, the spill was cleaned
up by Atlas Environmental.
Please be advised that the disposal of any waste [HSC 5411] or disposal of any hazardous waste, or the causing thereof, is
prohibited when the disposal is at a facility which is not permitted or authorized for hazardous waste disposal.
