D. GROUNDWATER INFORMATION
NLS§ 2.1, SSS§ 4.1. Groundwater depths and elevations throughout San Joaquin County are illustrated
on maps published by the County Flood Control and Water Conservation District. Lines of Equal Depth to
Groundwater Maps for the year 2000 illustrate the depth in this locale at approximately 25 ft. In 2018, the
depth to groundwater was measured at 40 ft and is most likely deeper due to drought and over -pumping.
The Lines of Equal Elevation over the years indicate the groundwater directional flow can be in a north,
northeasterly direction, or a westerly direction.
NLS§ 2.2, 3.1, SSS§ 2.1, 4.2, 4.4, 4.5. Since surrounding properties have been intensely farmed for
several decades, the potential for nitrate contamination in the underlying shallow groundwater can be
considered to be significant. However, the test results on the domestic well that will serve subject property
contains no nitrate concentration (Non -Detect - ND). This is due to the fact that the well was drilled to a
depth of 600 ft. The agrichemical Dibromochloropropane (DBCP) was also found to be Non Detect.
Water test results are found in Appendix D.
E. CLIMATIC DATA: RAINFALL VS. EVAPOTRANSPIRATION
NLS§ 3.2. The following Table illustrates rainfall and evapotranspiration for the Tracy area.
Precipitation data was obtained from the Soil Survey of San Joaquin County. The conservative "2 years in
10" data was used and not the "average rainfall" data. Evapotranspiration data was obtained from the
California Irrigation Management Information System (CIMIS):
TABLE 3
PRECIPITATION AND Eto DATA FOR TRACY, CA
Month
2 Years in 10 will have more
precipitation than: (in/mo)
Eto Average
Potential Deep
Percolation (in/mo)
(in/mo)
(in/day)
January
2.93
1.55
0.05
1.38
February
2.21
2.24
0.08
--
March
238
3.72
0.12
--
April
1.51
5.10
0.17
May
0.71
6.82
0.22
--
June
2.09
7.80
0.26
--
July
0.28
8.68
0.28
--
August
1.05
7.75
0.25
--
September
0.84
5.70
0.19
--
October
1.06
4.03
0.13
--
November
2.10
2.10
0.07
--
December
2.38
1.55
0.05
0.83
TOTALS (in.)
13.18
57.0
------
2.21
11
Chesney Consulting
