Hazelton Ave.
Stockton, CA 95205
Dear Jim Van Buren,
On behalf of the Escalon Unified School District I am responding to Application MS-93-81 of
Frank Faria.
Project Description: A minor subdivision application to subdivide a 155-acre parcel into two
parts. Parcel 1 is to contain 153.02 acres, and Parcel 2 is to contain 2.77 acres.
Project Location: The project site is located on the northwest corner of Van Allen Road and
Avena Road, northwest of Escalon (Supervisorial District 5).
Currently the Escalon Unified School District is above capacity and continues to add portable
classrooms to accommodate students. Each additional potential homesite may have the capability
of generating$2.65 per square foot of developer fees however this amount only equates to
approximately 51% of the cost to house our students. Therefore each potential homesite within the
Escalon Unified School District boundaries continues to add to its facility problem.
Based on the abovementioned information the Escalon Unified School District opposes this
application unless our cost to house additional students is fully mitigated.
If I can be of further assistance please contact me.
Sincerely,
Vern Medeiros
Assistant Superintendent
jh
