INVESTIGATION: <br />On January 3, 2020, the San Joaquin County Agricultural Commissioner's Office received a <br />Pesticide Incident Report for Lina Sanany (Ms. Sanany) from the California Department of <br />Pesticide Regulation's Worker Health and Safety Branch via CalPEATS. The Pesticide Incident <br />Report (Exhibit 1) recorded on January 3, 2020, stated Ms. Sanany shortness of breath and <br />coughing while cleaning her personal restroom. Angelica Goehring (Biologist Goehring), San <br />Joaquin County Agricultural Biologist/Standards Inspector was originally assigned to the <br />investigation. <br />On January 15, 2020, I, Danalynn Galvin, San Joaquin County Agricultural Biologist/Standards <br />Inspector was reassigned to the investigation with the help of Jana Labrucherie (Biologist <br />Labrucherie), San Joaquin County Agricultural Biologist/Standards Inspector. <br />On March 2, 2020, at 3:08pm, Biologist Labrucherie and I contacted Ms. Sanany via phone. Ms. <br />Sanany stated in summary: <br />I was cleaning the bathroom in my residence when I accidently mixed Clorox and Lysol. <br />I developed shortness of breath and a cough upon irnhaling the mixture. I don't know actual <br />name of the products or any EPA Registration Numbers as I have discarded the products. <br />We informed Ms. Sanany to read and follow the labels carefully in the future as the labels will <br />give specific information on precautions to take and personal protective equipment to wear. <br />On March 3, 2020 at 4:50pm, Biologist Labrucherie emailed a home use pesticide safety handout <br />to Ms. Sanany's personal email address (Exhibit 2). <br />FINDINGS: <br />On January 3, 2020, the San Joaquin County Agricultural Conunissioner's Office received a <br />Worker Health and Safety Investigation (WHS 2020-0012) from the Department of Pesticide <br />Regulation Worker Health and Safety Branch. Lina Sanany inhaled a mixture of Clorox and Lysol <br />while cleaning the bathroom at her personal residence. Outreach was given regarding using <br />pesticides and following the label for home use. The San Joaquin County Agriculture Department <br />will not be pursuing further action. <br />Page 4 of 5 <br />
