Ue 23 March 1981' convnents date was scratctied out and <br />ASAP'was added. <br />(2) The hearing dates iaere scheduled as follows: <br />Planning Dept. review, 24 March 1981, Development Coomission <br />25 March 1981, Planning Commission, 2 April 1981 <br />WE, hope tAe following comnents will be useful at your 2 April 1981 hearing. <br />The San deaquin County Water Qualify Management Plan, prepared by the San Joaquin <br />Loeal,Health District, refers to the Santos Ranch Subdivision. On page 5-53 <br />the Plan states in part: <br />The communities and developments of Currier Estates, Santos Ranch <br />Subdivision, the San Joaquin River Club, and Thornton are develop- <br />ments that are all characterized with excessively high water -tables <br />and, in some cases, jess-than-desirable soil conditions. Although <br />definite water quality problems associated with subsurface dispusal <br />of sewage is not currently documentable in thsse areas, the develop- <br />ment of future problems can be predicted. (Ideally, sewage disposal <br />in these areas shuulu be by other than subsurface means.) <br />And, on Page 6-1, the Plan states in part: <br />The recaranended action plan basically identifies the time frame <br />I within the next twenty years when the reconmendations, policies, <br />and solutions to existing or potential water quality problems <br />associated with septic system use in unsevered comnunities should <br />1 be implemented. The action plan is intended to assist local policy- <br />
