Jun-22-98 10: 30A
CLEM ENTS VINEYARDS
One Winemasfer way
Lodi, California 95240
(209)333-1818 / fax (209)333-1838
June 22, 1998
Board of Supervisors
222 East Weber Avenue
Stockton, California
RE.• R/US FARM LABOR HOUSING
Hervey Lane
Dear Board of Supervisors:
I would ask that Board of Supervisors to look favorably on the proposed Rios firm labor lousing
project. We presently farm over 2,000 acres of grapes in the Clements area, and are will aware of
the need for such a project.
It is my understanding this project is a conforming land use and does not require a rezone, but is
acted on by a use permit at the discretion of the Board of Supervisors. As a grower I am only to
aware of the government restrictions being placed on our land and this one appears to be
politically motivated to appease curtain other land owners.
Finally, I would point out that Mr. Rios does not farm any of our property and we do not stand to
benefit in any way,by this proposal. It appears to me the main beneficiaries arc the farm laborers
and their improved living conditions.
Sincerely,
Chas. field
Clements Vineyards
