LOGE 2211 Page 1

SOIL SUITABILITY STUDY

Introduction
Live Oak GeoEnvironmental, Inc. (Live Oak) was contracted by Jose Ulloa of Sierra
Construction to conduct a Soil Suitability Study and Nitrate Loading Study for the
property located at 5774 and 5828 East Cherokee Road, Stockton, California.
The Soil Suitability Study and Nitrate Loading Study are combined under this report
cover and presented as two sections of this report. The formatting of the report has
been designed to follow the recommendations of the San Joaquin County
Environmental Health Department as described in its Soil Suitability Study
Requirements Checklist and Nitrate Loading Study Requirements Checklist.
The Soil Suitability Study was conducted to determine whether the soils are suitable for
use with a septic system. The study was performed according to the requirements of
Section 9-1105.2(d) of the San Joaquin County Development code.
Proposed Development
Mr. Ulloa intends to construct a new home on each of the two parcels of the Site.
Site Description
The Site is defined as Assessor’s Parcel Numbers (APN) 087-150-34 and -35, each
0.56 acres in size. The Site is located at 5774 and 5828 East Cherokee Road, Stockton
(Plate 1).
The Site is currently vacant (Plate 2).
The elevation of the Site, according to a United States Geological Survey topographic
map, is approximately 38 feet above mean sea level. The Site is relatively flat (Plate 3).
According to the San Joaquin County District Viewer (sjmap.org), the Site is zoned R-L,
Low Density Residential. The San Joaquin County Community Development
Department states that this zoning designation “is intended to provide for
neighborhoods consisting of detached, single family residences located within or
immediately adjacent to population centers which have public services.”
Existing and Proposed Septic Tank Usage
Existing Septic System
No septic systems are currently located on the Site.
