May 11, 2021
FOR: San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department (EHD)
Mr. Steven Shih, REHS, Program Manager
1868 Hazelton Ave.
Stockton, CA 95205
PROJECT: Mr. Salvador Serna
76 West Bowman Road, APN 193-260-19
French Camp, California 95231
SR0083332
SUBJECT: Onsite Wastewater Treatment System (OWTS) Design Addendum
Reference is made to the project noted above. I am submitting this Addendum to change the effluent pump
configuration. Previous EHD Administrations required a duplex pump system on all onsite wastewater
treatment systems where a pressurized system was specified. The current EHD Administration will now
allow a simplex (single) pump system exclusively for residential projects where effluent must be low -head
or high -head pressurized for delivery to the soil. Consequently, I am changing my original specification of a
duplex pump system for this project to a simplex system. The Orenco Biotube pump vault specified (P/N:
PVU-68-18-19) will remain the same with only one pump installed in the pump vault.
As designed, the pump unit must have a Control Panel that contains an audible and visual alarm system to
alert people inside the accessory unit dwelling of effluent pump failure. Upon pump failure, the homeowner
must immediately, or as soon as practical, contact a pumping company to pump the septic tank to allow
storage/surge capacity until the pump can be repaired or replaced. The homeowner must test the alarm
system per the manufacturer's recommendations, or at least once per month.
If there are any questions regarding this Addendum, please contact the undersigned.
Respectfully submitted,
CHESNEY CONSULTING 6ytofessf.'
4
No. 7s479
Don Chesn , PE
Registered Civil Engin ee #C75479
rar Civil
P.O.
