This letter is to inform you that, based on our records, French Camp Golf Course Water System has more than one sample collected during the months of April and May 2011, which is coliform -positive. This is a violation of the Total Coliform Maximum Contaminant Level (MCL), California Code of Regulations (CCR), Title 22, Article 3, Section 64426.1. The French Camp Golf Course Water System owner or operator shall: 1) Notify the persons served by the water system in the following methods of a Water Quality Failure, and using the language of Enclosure A: And (Mail Delivery of Notice of Water Quality Failure) - Notice by direct mail or with the water bill shall be given once within 30 days after the violation or failure. The Department may waive the requirement for mail delivery if it determines that the violation or failure has been corrected within the 30 -day period. If such a waiver is given it shall be given in writing within the 30 -day period. Repeat notice by mail shall be given at least once every 3 months for as long as the violation or failure continues. (Expedited Hand Delivery of Notice of Water Quality Failure) - Notice by hand delivery shall be given once within 14 days after the violation or failure. Repeat notice by hand shall be given every 3 months for as long as the violation or failure exists. (Continuous posting of Notice of Water Quality Failure) - Notice by posting in conspicuous places within the area served by the system shall be initiated within 14 days after the violation or failure. Posting shall continue for a minimum of seven days and as long as the violation or failure exists. 2) Provide the Environmental Health Department (EHD) with a completed and signed copy of the required public notification and the methods you are using within ten (10) days of receipt of this letter. , 3) Sample, after receiving notice of a Routine sample testing positive for bacteria, by instructing your laboratory to collect four Repeat samples WITHIN 24 HOURS OF BEING NOTIFIED and to collect fila Routine samples the following month, as per the Sample Siting Plan. 4) Instruct your laboratory to test for the presence of total coliform using enumeration test methods and for chlorine residuals on all Repeat samples. Please be aware that bacteriological and chlorine residuals results collected for a system in a calendar month shall be reported to the EHD no later than the tenth day of the following month.
