STECHER•AINSWORTH & ASSOCIATES
LEONARD S. STECHER, M.E.
MECHANICAL ENGINEERS
KENNETH H. AINSWORTH. M.E.
r' May 28, 1974 .
San Joaquin Local Health District
P. 0, Box 2009
Stockton, California 95201
Subject: Maintenance Facility Manteca Unified School District
Our Project #1837
Gentlemen:
Enclosed are prints showing proposed on site sewage disposal system
to be provided at the subject project. This project is located in
the vicinity of the existing administration facility at Louise and
Airport Roads in Manteca. You may recall that a similar on site
disposal system was installed on this site to serve the administration
building in the early part of 1971 .
It is our understanding that this facility will be used primarily for
bus maintenance and warehousing of school district inventory. On that
basis, we have designed the disposal system to accommodate 50 people
at a rate of 30 gallons per day, per person. We feel that this design
criteria is very liberal . In addition we used the "soil type constant"
of . 175 which was previously given to us by your office in designing
the existing on site disposal system.
Based on the above criteria we have established system requirements as
follows :
(1) Septic tank size equals 1 ,500 gallons.
(2) Linear feet of trench equals 1 ,500 x . 175 = 262 feet.
We would appreciate receiving your comments with regard to the proposed
system at your earliest convenience. It is our understanding that the
facility is to be put out for bid in the very near future.
Thank you for your cooperation.
Very truly yours,
STECHER-AINSWORTH & ASSOCIATES
1
Kenneth H.
