DISCUSSION OF ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACTS
SII-92-9
Prosect Description
This project is a Major Subdivision Application to subdivide a 13
acre lot into 13 commercial lots of 0.5 to 2 . 0 acres each.
Proposed_ access is provided by Thornton road via Cal-_.Stop .__CI=I
and Cal Court.
Water supply, sewage disposal and drainage are to be provided by
CSA 31. A discussion of the waste discharge issues is included in
the attached February 24 , 1992 letter from the California Regional
Water Quality Control Board.
Water
Treated waste water will be discharged to Highline Canal, a
tributary to Dredger Cut then White Slough.
Plant and Animal Life
A survey of the Natural Diversity Data Base indicates two
species listed as threatened (Calif. ) and Candidate 2 (Fed. ) The
first is the California Black Rail heard calling in the White
Slough Marsh. The second is the Giant Garter Snake which has been
seen at the Coldani Mash, 0.8 miles West of Thornton Road at St.
Rt. 12 . There is no evidence in the file to suggest that this
project will impact either species.
Noise
The projected 75 dB CNEL noise contour for I-5 extends 102 feet
from the edge of pavement. This noise contour extends
approximately 50 feet into the western lots of this subdivision.
This project will not expose people to significant noise levels.
Initial Study (Rev: 01/91)
9
