PA-0400403 (SA) - 2 - 29 October 2004
and a SWPPP must be prepared. If there are any questions about this process or the storm water
program, you may call Jacque Kelley at (916) 464-4764. Additional information can be found at the
storm water website -http://www.swrcb.ca.,aovlstormwtrlindex.html.
Construction Dewatering Permit Information
Typically, pollutants associated with dewatering activities can be addressed under the Construction
Storm Water Permit. However, if dewatering activities are extensive, the Central Valley Regional Board
may choose to cover the dewatering discharge under Order No. 5-00-175, General Order for Dewatering
and Other Low Threat Discharges.
Section 404 Permit Information
If the project will involve the discharge of dredged or fill material into navigable waters or wetlands, a
permit pursuant to Section 404 of the Clean Water Act may be needed from the US Army Corps of
Engineers. If a Section 404 permit is required by the Corps, the Board will review the permit application
to ensure that discharge will not violate water quality standards. For more information, contact the
Sacramento District of the Corps of Engineers at (916) 557-5250 or Patrick Gillum with the Regional
Board at(916) 464-4709.
If you have any questions about the wastewater permitting process, please call me at (916)464-4616.
TIMOTHY .
