Training <br /> SQG Training Requirements <br /> SQGs must ensure that all employees are thoroughly familiar with proper waste handling <br /> and emergency procedures, relevant to their responsibilities during normal facility operations <br /> and emergencies. <br /> SQG Training Recordkegping <br /> Hazardous waste management training records on current personnel must be kept until <br /> closure of the facility. Records on former employees must be kept for at least three years <br /> from the date the employee last worked at the facility. <br /> LUG Training Requirements <br /> LQGs must ensure that employees receive initial hazardous waste training within 6 <br /> months of receiving and/or changing a job assignment involving the management of <br /> hazardous waste. <br /> Specifically, LQGs must ensure that personnel receive classroom or on-the-job training <br /> on handling, accumulation, and emergency response considerations of managing <br /> hazardous waste. At a minimum, the training program must be designed to ensure that <br /> facility personnel are able to respond effectively to emergencies by familiarizing them <br /> with emergency procedures, emergency equipment, and emergency systems, including, <br /> where applicable: <br /> ➢ Using, inspecting,repairing,and replacing emergency and monitoring equipment <br /> ➢ Key parameters for automatic waste feed cutoff systems <br /> ➢ Communications or alarm systems <br /> ➢ Response to fire or explosions <br /> ➢ Response to groundwater contamination incidents <br /> ➢ Shutdown of operations <br /> Annual refresher training is also required to make sure employees stay on top of the <br /> requirements. <br /> Employees must not work in unsupervised positions until they have completed the <br /> training requirements of this section. <br /> 10 of 13 <br />
