All violations must be corrected within specified timeframe. Violations that are classified as"MAJOR"pose an immediate threat to public health <br /> and must be corrected immediately or be subject to closure pursuant to California Code of Regulations(Title 22)section 65545. <br /> #12 pH Level MAJOR <br /> OBSERVATIONS:The pool pH level was less than 7. Maintain pH level between 7.2-7.8 when operating. Keep pool closed <br /> until correction is verified by EHD. <br /> CALCODE DESCRIPTION:Pool operator shall maintain pH between 7.2 and 7.8. (CCR 65530) <br /> #4 Safety Equipment <br /> OBSERVATIONS:The north life ring throw throw was tangled and the south life ring throw rope was not attached and too <br /> short. Provide and attach life ring that spans the maximum width of the pool and store throw rope in a manner that will <br /> prevent kinking or fouling. Correct today. <br /> CALCODE DESCRIPTION:Safety equipment shall be provided, maintained,readily visible,and available for use.Pools shall have at <br /> minimum one 12 foot fixed-length rescue pole with a permanently attached body hook and one 17-inch life ring with an attached throw <br /> rope. Throw rope shall be of sufficient length to span the maximum width of the pool and shall be stored to prevent kinking or fouling. <br /> (CCR 65540) <br /> #8 Pool and Deck Lighting <br /> OBSERVATIONS:Pool light does not work, no swimming after sunset sign was posted. Repair pool light and verify GFCI is <br /> working properly or have electrician disconnect electricity to pool light and keep sign posted. If electricity will be <br /> disconnected for pool light provide a report or letter to EHD from the electrician stating that pool light was disconnected. <br /> Correct within 2 weeks. <br /> CALCODE DESCRIPTION:Pools used at night shall be equipped with underwater light fixtures that provide complete illumination of the <br /> pool. When a pool is used at night,pool deck and emergency egress areas shall be provided with lighting. If underwater or deck lighting is <br /> not operational, the pool operator shall post a sign in 4-inch letters stating"NO USE OF POOL ALLOWED AFTER DARK"and shall <br /> secure the pool area and not permit any use of the pool after dark. (31158) <br /> #9 Ladders and Handrails <br /> OBSERVATIONS:Shallow end hand rail is loose. Secure hand rail today. <br /> CALCODE DESCRIPTION:A means of entry and exit shall be provided at both the shallow and deep end of the pool. Ladders and <br /> handrails shall be corrosion resistant and shall be rigidly installed.At least one handrail shall extend from the deck to not less than a point <br /> above the top of the lowest step. Handrails shall be installed between 28 to 36 inches above the steps and deck. (CBC 311 1B)Pool <br /> operator shall keep ladders and handrails well maintained.
