C <br />11. Decontamination Procedures <br />All personnel and equipment must be free from contamination when they leave the work site. <br />PERSONNEL DECONTAMINATION <br />Decontamination of personnel shall be accomplished to ensure that any material, which <br />personnel may have contacted in the exclusion zone, is removed in the contamination -reduction <br />zone. Decontamination of personnel shall utilize the following steps as appropriate to the specific <br />work area: <br />Step 1: Wash down boots with sprayer. <br />Step 2: Remove gloves and protective clothing <br />Step 3: Remove the hard hat decontaminate as needed <br />Step 4: Remove respirators and suitably store while on breaks and during lunch. <br />At the end of shift, discard the cartridges (note: respirator should be <br />disinfected after use by wiping down and allowing to air dry.) <br />Step 6: Wash hands, face and neck before breaks, lunch, and site departure. <br />EQUIPMENT DECONTAMINATION <br />Any equipment and vehicles that come in contact with contaminated soil will undergo <br />decontamination. Each party will be responsible for final decontamination of their equipment. <br />WASTE HANDLING <br />Contaminated clothing will be bagged and disposed of at the end of the waste characterization <br />project. Wastewater generated on site will be disposed of onsite. Solid wastes will be disposed <br />of in temporary waste storage areas set up within the exclusion zone.
