capped and graded, such as on the Delta or Beard properties where the grading is highly <br />disturbed. Another alternative is to perform a partial clean-closure. This would entail excavation <br />and processing of areas defined as containing waste. Thew materials (and potentially <br />hazardous wastes) would be segregated and disposed at an appropriate permitted landfill facility. <br />Recyclable wastes, such as concrete and asphalt, could be processed for reuse on the property. <br />The reusable wastes could be used for road base, drainage conveyances, erosion control and soil <br />stabilization. CIA staff recommends that the AB2136 program review this investigation report <br />and perform an engineering feasibility study to determine the scope of work and costs for each of <br />the above remediation alternatives and provide its recommendations. <br />32 <br />
