6.3. Labeling <br />Samples will be labeled in a clear, precise, and thorough manner to ensure proper identification <br />for tracking in the laboratory. Each sample will include a unique sample identification/number, <br />general sample location information, sample collection date and time, sample type, and the <br />requested analytical test methods. <br />6.4. Chain -of -Custody <br />A chain -of -custody record will accompany all sample shipments. Shipped samples will have a <br />custody seal placed across the lid of each sample container. All custody seals will be signed <br />and dated. <br />6.5. Packaging and Shipment <br />Sample containers will be placed in a strong -outside shipping container. If ice is used to cool <br />the samples, the ice will be packed in a double "Ziploc" bag. Special care will be provided to <br />secure and prevent damage to the sample containers. <br />6.6. Reporting <br />Following receipt of the analytical data, CIWMB and Ninyo & Moore staff will evaluate and <br />summarize project data/information onto appropriate figures and tables. CIWMB staff will <br />prepare a site investigation report providing descriptions of field procedure/methodologies <br />implemented, descriptions and characterization of buried wastes, estimated extent of buried <br />wastes based on the field investigation, a summary of analytical data, and discussion of the <br />analytical results. The CIWMB anticipates submitting the site investigation report to the LEA <br />within 60 days after receipt of the analytical results. <br />6-32 <br />
