PUBLIC NOTIFICATION METHODS <br /> FOR <br /> PROCEDURAL FAILURE <br /> The methods of notification are described in Section 64464.1. Section 64464.6 (b)(2) <br /> specifies that notification shall be by Method 8 and by either Method 10 or 11, as <br /> described below. If there is no daily newspaper of general circulation serving the area <br /> served by the system then notification shall be by Method 9 and by either Method 10 or <br /> 11. If there is no daily or weekly newspaper of general circulation serving the area served <br /> by the system then notification shall be Method 11 or 12 as described below. <br /> Method 8: (Daily Newspaper Notice of Procedural Failure) - Notice shall be <br /> given within three months of the violation or failure by publication in a <br /> daily newspaper of general circulation in the area served by the <br /> system. <br /> Method 9: (Weekly Newspaper Notice of Procedural Failure) - Notice shall be <br /> given once within three months of the violation or failure by <br /> publication in a weekly newspaper of general circulation in the area <br /> served by the water system. <br /> Method 10: (Mail Delivery of Notice of Procedural Failure) - Notice by direct mail <br /> or with the water bill shall be given at least once every three months <br /> for as long as the violation or failure continues. <br /> Method 11: (Hand Delivery of Notice of Procedural Failure) - Notice by hand <br /> delivery shall be given once within three months of the violation or <br /> failure. Repeat notice by hand delivery shall be given at least once <br /> every three months for as long as the violation or failure exists. <br /> Method 12: (Continuous Posting of Notice of Procedural Failure) - Notice by <br /> posting in conspicuous places within the area served by the system <br /> shall be initiated within three months of the violation or failure. <br /> Posting shall continue for as long as the violation or failure exists. <br /> *Please provide this office with a copy of the Public Notice and the method of <br /> notification used. <br />
