Hazelton Avenue
Stockton, California 95205
Dear Mr. Hunter: "
e.
With regard to your department's recent referral to this
agency of the ' CON Associates Geotechnical Investigation
and Waste Management Study for a proposed 157 acre Class
II-1 disposal site in the Littl johns Creek area, we wish
to acknowledge a report dealing with solid waste disposal
areas in San Joaquin County that is being prepared by the
State Resources Agency for this Association. According to
the criteria established in the preliminary draft of the
Solid Waste Disposal Areas report the Littlejohns Creek
disposal site is not a suitable location for this type of
operation. The criteria in the report are based on the
potential threat to ground water sources due to percolation
of toxic chemicals from such a disposal site.
However, the operational procedures for the handling of
pesticide containers outlined in the EMCON study appears
to compensate for said permeability. Should the use
permit be approved, ithe conditions for inspection and
enforcement against the pesticide container recovery station
should be quite explicit. if the facility is operated
FSCALON LODI MANTECA RIPON STOCKTON TRACY COUNTY OF SAN JOAQUIN
j
