Summary of Environmental Health Evaluation:
On November 5, 2009, the annual routine inspection of this facility was performed. The facility was found to be in
substantial compliance with the environmental health requirements of Title 15 and Title 24 of the California Code of
Regulations at the time of inspection.
Notes: Food may be offered occasionally. The policies and procedures required by Section 1246 (Page 2) should be
updated to reflect the actual practices of serving food at this facility. The applicable items in Section 1243 (page 5) may
also be incorporated into these written policies and procedures relating to the provision of food at this facility.
Section 1246—Food Serving: Food may be offered occasionally, however, there was no written policy relating to the
provision of food at this facility. The policies and procedures related to this section should address the actual practice of
food purchasing, transportation, holding, serving, and disposal, if this activity does occur at this facility, even if only on an
occasional or rare basis. If food is never served to detainees, the policies and procedures should reflect this position.
Section 1280—Facility Sanitation, Safety and Maintenance: There was no written policy relating to the maintenance
and cleaning of the holding cells area, including no provision for a regular schedule of housekeeping tasks and
inspections. The holding cells were found in a clean condition at the time of inspection, however.
RECOMMENDATIONS
Section 1246 — Food Serving: Policies and procedures should be developed to address either the serving of food at the
facility or that no food is ever provided at the facility. Applicable provisions of Section 1243-Food Service Plan, found on
pages 5 and 6 of this checklist, may be incorporated into these policies and procedures.
Section 1280 — Facility Sanitation, Safety and Maintenance: Policies and procedures should be developed to address
the maintenance and cleaning of the holding cells area, and should include provisions for a regular schedule of
housekeeping tasks and inspections to identify and correct unsanitary or unsafe conditions.
City of Stockton Police Department 11/05/2009 PAGE 4 Temp Holding 6/15/2009
