VUTRITIONAL HEALTH EVALUA' N
Adult Court and Temporary Holding Facilities
ARTICLE/SECTION YES F NO I N/A COMMENTS
Article 11. Food
1240 Frequency of Serving X
(a) Food is served three times in any 24-hour
period.
(b) At least one meal includes hot food. X
(c) If more than 14 hours passes between these X
meals, supplemental food is served.
(d) Supplemental food is served in less than the 14- X
hour period for inmates on therapeutic diets
requiring more than three meals.
(e) A minimum of fifteen minutes is allowed for the X
actual consumption of each meal except for
those inmates on therapeutic diets where the
responsible physician has prescribed additional
time.
(f) Inmates who miss or may miss a regularly X
scheduled facility meal, are provided with a
sandwich or a substitute meal and beverage.
(q) Inmates on therapeutic diets who miss a X
regularly scheduled meal, are provided with their
prescribed meal.
1243 Food Manager(Not applicable for CH.) X
There is a written food service plan in Temporary
Holding facilities.
1241 Minimum Diet X
Inspectors should note that while this regulation
technically applies court and temporary holding
facilities, it is impossible to assess compliance with
Recommended Dietary Allowances (RDA) in
facilities where inmates are held for so short a period
of time. However, provision for reasonably
nutritious food is expected and compliance will
depend, in part, on the length of time inmates are
held. Please review the BOC"Medical,Mental
Health,Nutritional and Sanitation Guidelines" for
this regulation for additional discussion and consult
with your BOC Field Representative if you have
further questions.
Summary of nutritional health evaluation:SATISFACTORY
ADULT CH-TH NUTRITIONJZ/I 1/98 NUTRITION PAGE I Court and Temp Holding BOC FORM 357(Rev.5/98)
