Hazardous Waste Contingency Plan
The Home Depot Store#1022
6 Associate Training
The Home Depot developed and implemented a comprehensive HHM Program to ensure proper management of
hazardous materials and hazardous wastes at its stores. An annual refresher is also given to all associates. The classes held at the Store include:
• Class#00161928—California Waste and Recycling Training: A certification assigned to all associates in
California stores and is completed every 6 months.
• Class#4265—HHM Orientation and Employees Right-to-Know: Initial hazardous waste related training
for all store associates.
• Class#4266—Training for Designated HHM Associates: A continuation of Class#4265 for designated
store associates regarding oversight of spill/release clean-up, labeling, and storage processes.
• Class#4267—Transporting Hazardous Materials: Provides instruction to designated store associates
related to packing, repacking, handling, labeling, marking, placarding, shipping, and transporting hazardous
materials.
• Annual Safety Training: Annual refresher training for The Home Depot's safety policies and procedures,
including hazardous materials and waste procedures and emergency preparedness.
The Home Depot's hazardous materials/ hazardous waste training includes information from 40 CFR Parts 261,
262, and 265, and 22 CA ADC § 66265.16 It also includes transportation requirements provided in 49 CFR Parts
172 and 173.
