D FT
7. An operation and maintenance phase for the treatment plant with a duration of 10
to 30 years,and
8. A site restoration phase with equipment removal, decommissioning and restoration
of Property to match surrounding conditions.
WHEREAS, in order to complete the Work, the School District agrees to allow access for
NUSA and its authorized agents and subcontractors to conduct the following activities, alone or in
combination, (collectively, the"Activities")over the course of completing the Work:
1. Site survey: Perform a survey of existing infrastructure on the Property which
is necessary to finalize the design of a Groundwater Remediation System and
delineate the treatment plant area. This activity would likely involve having a
land surveyor crew and utility locating crew on the Property for up to ten days.
2. Well drilling, installation, testing and modification:
a. Modify existing irrigation well RPS-1, to be used for groundwater
extraction, which may include wellhead, well screen and depth
modifications. This activity would involve several days of construction
in the vicinity of RPS-I along with drilling equipment.
b. Install two injection wells(IW-1 and IW-2)at the approximate locations
shown on Exhibit A. This activity would likely involve approximately
5 days of drilling and construction in the vicinity of IW-1 and IW-2,
followed by 5 days of well development and testing.
3. Construction of groundwater treatment plant: The groundwater treatment plant
is currently planned to be constructed at the area shown in Exhibit A; and
duration of construction is anticipated to occur over a 8 to 10 week period and
would likely involve a construction crew, small excavation and concrete
forming equipment, trucks, forklifts and potentially a small crane, among other
equipment. The treatment system will likely include the following as shown in
Exhibit B:
a. An electrical service, separate from the School District service,
b. A concrete pad and ramp enclosed by a fence, with an adjacent storage
shed housing a program logic controller with internet connection, an
electrical panel and maintenance tools,
c. A piping manifold and above ground pipe rack with associated valves,
sensors and electrical controls,
d. Two 10,000 pound liquid phase granular activated carbon (GAC)
vessels with associated bag filters and transfer pumps,
2
