SL0607766006
On 29 June 2021 Central Valley Regional Water Quality Control Board staff (Staff)
received aproject status emailand telephone conversation update from Chevron
Environmental Management Company’sconsultant,Arcadis U.S., Inc., (Arcadis)for the
soil vapor probe installation and sampling activities conducted at the site (Site). Arcadis
stated that they are continuing to work with Union Pacific Rail Road (UPRR) to finalize
an access agreement to sample four soil vapor probes that were installed during
previous investigations, which are within the UPRR right-of-way (ROW).
Arcadis stated that the first dual-nested soil vapor probe was installed on residential
property on the east side of 2532 Dorset Lane in December 2019. Samples were
collected from the probes in January 2020. A second dual-nested soil vapor probe was
installed at 2502 Dorset Lane in October 2020. Samples are to be collected during the
comprehensive soil vapor sampling event after Arcadis acquires the access agreement
from UPRR. A third dual-nested soil vapor probe will be installed on the west side of
2532 Dorset Lane.
Arcadis had originally proposed two soil vapor probe locations; however, in a letter
dated 3 June 2019, Staff requested that one additional location be added to the
investigation. In an email dated 26 September 2019, Acradis submitted a map showing
three proposed soil vapor probe locations with two alternate locations. Staff concurred
with the location of the soil vapor probes in a letter dated 3 October 2019.
Arcadis stated that they are tentatively planning to complete the field work, including a
comprehensive soil vapor sampling event in the third quarter of 2021.The
comprehensive sampling event will include sample collection from the three new soil
vapor probes, and the four probes installed during previous investigations. Following the
completion of the field activities, Arcadis plans to prepare a final investigation report
documenting the field activities completed between 2019 and 2021.
