Box 6336 <br /> Stockton,CA 95206 <br /> FORWARD LANDFILL, SAN JOAQUIN COUNTY(CASE NO. 2209) <br /> We have reviewed the letter from Sangeeta Lewis of CH2M-Hil1 dated 6 October 1992 <br /> regarding expansion of the Ash Pit, waste management unit E, at Forward Landfill. <br /> Ms. Lewis proposes to begin excavation of the expansion area based on the preliminary <br /> grading plan provided to us in order to complete this task prior to the rainy season. We <br /> understand the final engineering design report, design plans and related reports are in <br /> preparation and will be submitted for our review and approval prior to construction of <br /> the liner system in the Ash Pit. <br /> Based on the information provided, starting excavation at this time would not violate <br /> the facility's waste discharge requirements.
