Cover material is readily available on site. <br /> On site soil deposits of 10- 6 cm/sec permeability will be <br /> stockpiled for capping fill areas during final cover <br /> operations. <br /> C. As each load of waste is received it is dumped on the ground <br /> and visually inspected for the presence of containers or <br /> other indications of potentially hazardous wastes. Landfill <br /> personnel have been instructed that only empty, rinsed <br /> containers are permitted to be dumped at the site. if <br /> containers are present in the waste, they are checked to <br /> determine if they are empty. If not empty they are checked <br /> for the presence of labels indicating what the contents are. <br /> Landfill personnel have been instructed that the containers <br /> should NOT be opened to determine their contents. If there <br /> is no clear indication of what is in the containers, they <br /> are set aside and the hauler that brought the waste is <br /> notified and asked to identify the contents. If the hauler <br /> can not identify what is in the containers they are asked to <br /> remove the containers from the site. If the containers are <br /> not removed within 24 hours the Toxic Substances Control <br /> Division of DOHS will be notified and asked to identify or <br /> remove the containers from the site. <br /> 7. All landfill personnel are trained in the above procedures <br /> and undergo monthly evaluation to insure that the procedures <br /> are being followed and that all safety precautions are being <br /> observed when checking for the presence of hazardous wastes. <br /> All haulers have been notified of what wastes are accepted <br /> at the site and instructed not to bring unacceptable wastes. <br /> Haulers, bringing unacceptable wastes will be notified in <br /> writing that the wastes were not acceptable and asked to <br /> dispose of this type of material as required. <br /> O. A sign at the entrance clearly states that hazardous <br /> materials are not accepted at the site. <br /> O. In addition to the above, additional measures in regards to <br /> the checking for hazardous wastes may be required upon the <br /> request of the enforcement agency. <br /> 10. The site is open to private commercial accounts a minimum of <br /> six days a week from 7:00 a. m. to 5 :00 p. m. Hours are <br /> extended as necessary to accommodate haulers needs. <br /> 11. A recycling center located at the landfill south of <br /> Littlejohns Creek is operated under a separate facilities <br /> permit (39-AA-020) . It is entirely separate from the <br /> landfill operation. There are no shared employees, <br /> equipment, access roads etc. . <br />
