M
Date:
To:
Company:
Address:
Phone No.:
November 15, 1990
Steve Rosenbaum
361-5732
I M IN DI IN
1;
Time: 11:00 a.m.
KLEINFELDER
Project No.: 24-220025-J00
I asked Steve if he approved of the abandonment of MW -4 and MW -9 as requested in our
letter to him, dated November 5, 1990. He said he approved of the plan. He asked if we
were going to pressure grout and I said we were going to try to pressure seal the top of
casing but were not sure of the logistics due to the elevation of the casings above ground
surface. I told him that we felt that the weight of the 70- to 110 -foot column of cement
would provide more than enough pressure to push the grout out of the casing into the filter
pack, if the seal doesn't stay in place. He asked whether were calculated the volume of
grout needed to fill the filter pack. I told him that we generally did not, but that we
recorded how much grout was required to fill casing and how much additional grout was
pumped.
He said he will not respond in writing, but will accept my documentation of his approval for
abandonment during this telephone call for the files.
cc: Carrie Cummings
Mary Haber
Steve Rosenbaum
Greg Olivera
F15-90-104
Recorded by: Renee Zollingerr
