June 6, 1986
Bill Greenspan
Page 3
This phase will require government approval of the plan of
correction to be developed as part of that contract. At
this stage, the walls of the burned area must be
demolished, and the government may require (and we re-
commend) fencing. We suggest renting temporary fencing.
5) CLOSURE
Backfill of cleaned area after government approval of the
cleanup is usually required.
6) COSTS
Phase I can be firmly costed as a result of our
investigations so far.
Our firm bid is $18,965.00 which will be reduced by $600.00 if
Mr. Saranevesht can inform us of a place in the Bay Area
which will accept the 3 drums of recyclable waste etchant
and can provide acceptable paperwork so that the
manufacturer will accept it for credit.
Phase II can be costed as our site assessment proceeds.
It should be less than Phase I since solids are much
cheaper to dispose. Time to completion 5 - 10 days from
commencement.
Phase III can only be costed after analytical results are
obtained, at the earliest 3 weeks from today (if the labs
are not overloaded) . Time to completion cannot yet be
determined, and may be subject to regulatory agency
delays.
We can begin work as early as we receive permission and payment
of half the bid in advance, the rest to follow on completion of
waste removal. Please feel free to call on me to clarify any of
these points. Phase I should be completed within one week of
commencement.
