2.0 SITE INFORMATION <br /> The Forward Landfill is located at 9999 South Austin Road in Manteca, California at <br /> approximately Latitude 37 52' 94" and Longitude 121 52' 59". The site is located in <br /> Section 3 of Township 1 S, Range 7E, Mount Diablo Baseline and Meridian (MDB&M) and <br /> Section 34 of Township 1 N, Range 7E MDB& . The Assessor's Parcel Numbers for the <br /> site are 181-150-07, 181-150-08, 181-150-09, 181-150-10, 201-060-01, 201-060-02, <br /> 201-060-03, and 201-060-05. A Vicinity Map is depicted on Figure 1 and a Location Map <br /> on Figure 2. <br /> The entire site area is 567 acres. Approximately 144 acres of this area comprises the <br /> existing Forward Landfill and 244 acres comprises the existing Austin Road Landfill. The <br /> various portions of the site area are summarized on a Site Plan, Figure 3. The landfill <br /> disposal area incorporates both existing and future waste management units. The existing <br /> Forward Landfill acreage includes an 8-acre hazardous waste cell known as Waste <br /> Management Unit (WMU) A. WMU A was closed in 1989 and is currently complying with <br /> post-closure monitoring requirements. <br /> Ramp and fill methods of disposal have been used to consolidate waste in the landfill <br /> throughout its operational history. The existing grade at the toe of slope is approximately <br /> 38-feet above mean sea level (amsl) and according to the latest survey data, refuse has <br /> been documented at elevations ranging from approximately 25-feet to 150-feet amsl. <br /> 2.1 LAND USE <br /> Pursuant to the San Joaquin County 2010 General Plan and the Development Title <br /> adopted by the County Board of Supervisors on July 24, 1992, the General Plan <br /> designation for the landfill site is G/A (General/Agricultural), and the zoning is AG-40 <br /> (General/Agricultural, 40-acre minimum lot size). The landfill is considered a major <br /> impact facility and is operated conditionally in the AG-40 zone. <br /> Adjacent land uses include agricultural lands to the east, west, and south. The <br /> Northern California Youth Center, a criminal detention facility, is located <br /> approximately 1,900 feet from the existing Austin Road Landfill and approximately <br /> 300 feet north of the soil borrow area. A women's prison is also located north of <br /> the site. The Stockton Metropolitan Airport is approximately 7,500 feet west of the <br /> existing Austin Road Landfill.
