Values and Assumptions:
I= 1.006 ac-ft
I
Nw= 131 mg TKN
d = 67%. A 67%decrease in NO,-N content(3 ppm to I ppm)was observed in the top 10 ft of soil(Table 1).
R = 5.88 ac-ft
Nb= Assumed to be 0.1 ppm NO3-N
1.006 ac-ft 031 mg N/L) (1 -0.67)+(5.88 ac-ft x 0.1 m //L)
Nr = (1.006 ac-ft+5.88 ac-ft)
Nr = 6.4 ppm as nitrate-nitrogen (NO3 N); 28.5 ppm as nitrate.
IV. O.W.T.S. OPERATIONAL PARAMETERS AND COMPONENTS
A. PROPOSED SYSTEM OPERATION
SSS§ 3.7. Design Plans are made part of this document and illustrate the following OWTS
description. All influent originating from the new Church/Multipurpose Building will travel
through a 4" PVC line to a 2,000 P&L Concrete gallon septic tank. The exit location of the
influent line from the new building is unknown. The septic tank must be installed far enough to
the east to allow 100 ft leachlines to be installed directly east of the existing concrete pad,north of
the building. The septic tank is to be traffic-rated since vehicular traffic could occur in this area.
A bull run valve will allow effluent gravity flow between the south and north leachlines. The
leachfield area will consist of two leachlines, both 2 ft wide, separated by a 1 ft soil barrier. The
south leachline will be the primary effluent disposal area and the north leachline will be the 100%
reserve/replacement area, Upon failure of the primary leachline,which the time frame for failure
is unpredictable, the bull run valves can be switched to the north reserve leachlines. After many
years,the bull run valve can be switched back and forth based upon effluent in the observation
tubes.
As the leachlines encounter the concrete slab,the slab shall be saw cut 4" wide (2x)to install a 3"
tightline to connect to the west leachlines, and be constructed identical to the east leachlines. At
the terminal end of the west leachlines, a second bull run valve will connect the primary and
replacement leachlines with a tightline and a 4" rise,to connect to one, 4 ft dia. seepage pit. Both
primary and replacement leachlines will be constructed with three Infiltrator EZ-Flow 0803H
modules, 8" dia. laid side-by-side as illustrated in Appendix C.
Effluent flow will be forced to distribute through the first(east) 100 ft of leachline by connecting
the 4" EZ Flow pipe within the 8" bundle to a 3" tightline laid under the concrete slab by using a
4" to 3" reducer. The effluent flow elevation will have to rise one inch to enter the reducer, which
will only occur when the east leachline becomes saturated. If this occurs, effluent flow will
C
ontinue to the west leachline.
Page -8-
Chesney Consulting
