Yosemite—Smitty's Wings 'n Things
Attachments: smittys.pdf
Hi Mike. We spoke yesterday about Smitty's Wings 'n Things on 946 Yosemite. Attached is
Environmental Health Department inspector Maribel's inspection report dated November 20, 2013 as
well as a copy of Stockton Fire Prevention Division inspection dated September 12, 2013 that the
facility provided to her.
Maribel opened this facility in late August of this year and did not note any frying equipment in the
facility. As she stated on her report, she observed (5) Euro Fryers that were sitting on a tabletop in the
kitchen that are currently being used for wings. She was told during her initial opening inspection that
they were going to bake wings only. These fryers are all electric and are not under a Type I hood.
Our department will always call out for a Type I hood if fryers are used in order to capture the grease
and help to eliminate off odors in the restaurant. Let us know if this is not correct. Perhaps since they
are electric they may be under different requirements or something else.
I appreciate your time,
Jeff
Jeff Carruesco, REHS Program Coordinator
San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department
1868 E.
