Guldelnfo <br /> Flexible Connector Piping for Fuels <br /> View Ustinas Paae Bottom <br /> View Llstin <br /> [ Containment Products for Flammable and Combustible Liquids ] (Transfer Pipe., <br /> Containment Sumps and Pipe/ Sump Accessories ) Flexible Connector Piping for <br /> Fuels <br /> See General Information for Transfer Pipe Containment Sumas and Plve/Sumo Accessorjes <br /> USE AND INSTALLATION <br /> This category covers primary, secondary and coaxlal- type flexible connector pipe Intended for the transfer and containment of flammable or <br /> combustible liquid fuels (or vapors thereof) at commercial ( public) or fleet ( private) automotive fueling stations. <br /> Flexible connectors may be metallic, nonmetallic or composite, and have integral end fittings, but are limited to a maximum length of 12 ft in <br /> nominal sizes up to 4 in. for use as piping components within fuel - dispensing and/ or vapor- recovery systems . <br /> Flexible connectors may be used underground ( where routed through chase pipe) , in enclosed sumps ( such as tank, dispenser or transition <br /> types) , or aboveground without additional protection. <br /> The combinations of containment types, location and liquid ratings are described under TYPES AND RATINGS below. <br /> These connectors are intended to be Installed and used in accordance with the manufacturer's Instructions and one or more of the following <br /> codes : <br /> ANSI/NFPA 1, " Fire Code" <br /> ANSI/ NFPA 30, " Flammable and Combustible Liquids Cade" <br /> ANSI/NFPA 30A, "Code for Motor Fuel Dispensing Facilities and Repair Garages" <br /> " International Fire Code" <br /> Other codes or federal or state regulations of the Authority Having Jurisdiction <br /> These connectors are Intended to be field assembled by qualified persons in accordance with the manufacturer's Instructions and, for continued <br /> leak- tight service , require periodic Inspection and maintenance or replacement. <br /> TYPES AND RATINGS <br /> The following types of flexible connector pipe constructions and ratings are marked on the product and indicated In the individual certifications. <br /> Containment Ratings <br /> Primary — Single-wall pipe construction Intended to contain and convey the Intended fuels flowing in a piping system under normal use. <br /> Secondary — Single- wall pipe construction intended to surround the primary, contain the fuels under abnormal conditions (such as primary <br /> rupture ) and provide fluid communication and monitoring capabilities. <br /> Coaxial — Double-wall pipe construction consisting of integral primary and secondary pipe with a defined interstitial space that provides fluid <br /> communication and monitoring capabilities. <br /> Location Ratings <br /> Underground — Installed below the earth's surface, but accessible without digging, such as within chase piping. <br /> Sump — Installed within an enclosed structure ( below, above or at grade) and Intended to provide protection and access of components. <br /> Aboveground — Installed on or above the earth's surface, typically without additional protection. <br /> Liquid Ratings <br /> Automotive Fuels Only those fuels formulated in accordance with 40CFR80, " Regulation of Fuels and Fuel Additives, " and meeting the <br /> following ASTM fuel specifications and blend limits : <br /> ASTM D975 diesel with or without biodiesel blends up to 5% ( 135) <br /> ASTM D7467 diesel with blodlesel blends between 6% - 20% ( 136 - B20) <br /> file:///C :/Users/Brian%2OCochrarVDesktop/QLWV.Guidelnfc"/"20-o/"20FIexible%2OConnector%2OPiping%20for%2OFuels,html �� <br />
